Hugh Woodward
David Pellspmforum.org Managing Editor Hugh Woodward was in Dallas, Texas Thursday evening, representing pmforum.org at the PMI Dallas Chapter's monthly meeting. But after sharing his insights on the future of project management in his usual passionate style, the meeting took an unusual twist. He announced that he was stepping down as pmforum.org Managing Editor, to be replaced by David Pells. "I will be glad to answer questions", he said, "but do not try to reach me at editor@pmforum.org. That address will go to PMI Dallas Chapter member, David Pells."
David Pells, President of pmforum.org's parent company, iWorld Projects and Systems, is well-qualified to be pmforum.org's third Managing Editor. As a PMI Fellow and former member of the PMI Board of Directors, he is an internationally recognized leader in project management with over twenty-five years' experience in project management related positions.
Hugh Woodward will focus full-time on the demands of his management consulting company, Macquarie Business Concepts, continuing to promote his recurring editorial theme: simple is better.
"Nevertheless, this is a sad day for me", he explained. "I am really proud of the improvements in pmforum.org over the past 18 months. We completely redesigned the site to incorporate state of the art navigation and search capability. We added popular new features like breaking news and the discussion center. And we expanded our reach by partnering with print publications in Russia, Brazil and Australia. Most importantly, our visitors like what they are seeing. Our traffic is up 150% in the past 12 months."
David Pells' plans for pmforum.org are to continue publishing as is, at least for now. "There is obviously a large and loyal audience that likes the current format," he said. "We are going to continue to improve the site, of course, but we will not be making any precipitous changes."
