July 2006 - This month we present a valuable Guest paper by Colin Bentley, Chief Examiner and major author for the UK's PRINCE2 methodology. In his paper he draws a detailed comparison between PRINCE2 (2005) and PMBOK ® Guide (2004) by the Project Management Institute. Brian suggests better metrics. This month's Paper reviews Tom Kendrick's book: The Project Management Toolkit, a compendium of 100 "processes" frequently used in project management - a valuable how-to of tips and techniques. May 2006 - In our Paper this month, we review Gary Chin's book: Agile Project Management. Gary makes an excellent case for the "agile" approach under particular project circumstances. Our Guest, Barry Schaeffer, explains the history of the protocol XML Markup and its Effect on Project Communications and its importance to the modern project manager. In Musings, we've tried to answer two questions raised by readers: Can a project manager manage a project remotely? and How much time should a project manager be allocating to a project?
