The APM Group’s fourth annual Best Practice Showcase will take place at the Hilton Metropole Hotel in Central London on the 9th of June. The theme of this year’s event will be change management through programmes and projects.
The Best Practice Showcase focuses on demonstrating best practice in programme and project management (PPM) and all the speakers are users with experience of implementing PPM management techniques within their organisations.
The event is free to attend for project directors and heads of programmes from across the private and public sectors. Throughout the day, a series of 20 case studies will be presented to delegates, focusing on such issues as:
- Effective culture and change management
- The practicalities of benefits realisation, delivery and management
- Gaining buy-in for new projects from the top level and across the organisation, at all levels
- Managing stakeholders
- Project and programme risk management
In addition to the case studies, APMG has added interactive round table sessions to the day’s schedule. These sessions will show how some of the UK’s most successful change managers have used programme and project management techniques to drive change through their organizations quickly, healthily and profitably.
Richard Pharro, managing director of The APM Group (APMG), comments, “Programme and project managers are expected to be able to develop and implement a planned approach to change in their organisations. It’s crucial for them to estimate what impact change will have on employee behaviour patterns, work processes, technological requirements, and motivation. But understanding change takes skill and planning and its impact is often underestimated. We hope that the Showcase programme will help delegates understand the process of change and help them to achieve their desired outcomes.”
