The Project Management Institute Chapter of Distrito Federal, Brazil and X25 Treinamento e Consultoria are collaborating to convene the First Seminar on Risk Management of Distrito Federal (Brazil), featuring three active project managers from three different countries: Peter Mello, Brazil; Vladimir Liberzon, Russia: and Edward Fern, USA. The event will be held June 20-21, 2006, in Brasilia, the capital of Brazil.

Ed Fern is president of Time-to-Profit, Inc., a consultancy focused on project management and product development. His career in Information Technology and Product Development began in 1973, and he has held director level positions with Sprint, Control Data Corporation, and TRW. He is a former vice president of professional development of the PMI Orange County Chapter and sponsor of the PMI California Inland Empire Chapter.
Vladimir Liberzon is the General Director of Spider Management Technologies, supplier of Spider Project software, a powerful project management software package used in 14 countries. Liberzon was the architect and project manager of Spider Project development. He is also the author of four books on project management and more than 100 papers, and the founder of the PMI Moscow Chapter.
The Seminar will be conducted in three panels:
- Introductory Risk Management Panel, presented by Peter Mello, will cover the basics of risk management and available tools and techniques.
- Preparation Panel, presented by Ed Fern and Vladimir Liberzon, will cover advanced techniques.
- Development Panel, presented by Ed Fern and Vladimir Liberzon, will expand on the techniques presented during the preparation panel.
All the presentations given by Ed Fern and Vladimir Liberzon will be in English with simultaneous Portuguese translation available.
