The International Project Management Association (IPMA) has announced the final plans for major activities and events for the 21st Global Congress on Project Management, scheduled to occur in Cracow, Poland during June 18-20, 2007, as follows:

International Project Excellence Awards

The IPMA annually presents International Project Excellence Award to project management teams that achieve, and can prove, great feats in project management. This year’s awards will be presented in Cracow with ceremony and fanfare to deserving teams.

Project Excellence Award Polska

Following IPMA members - national Project Management associations in Germany and Austria, for the first time Polish PM association - SPMP - organizes the Polish national award: Project Excellence Award Polska.

Keynote Speeches

Special Guest: President Lech Wałęsa, Legendary Leader of Solidarity Trade Union, Nobel Peace Prize Laureate 1983, President of Poland 1990-1995, Other featured guest speakers will include leading experts in project management: Prof. Roland Gareis (Austria), Dr Ing Juergen Schloss (Germany), Mr Antii Heinonen (Finland), Prof. Rodney Turner (UK), Prof. Peter Morris (UK).

Young Crew Workshop

The Young Crew Workshop aims at providing opportunities to students, postgraduates and young professionals from different countries to meet and share cultural and PM experiences. Graduate and undergraduate students are welcome.

IPMA Nation to Nation Forum (IN2F)

The whole world is a family. This meet will be an opportunity to share ideas and experience in the field of managing projects to create a sustainable and prosperous globe. This is an exciting new feature to be introduced in Cracow.

IPMA Workshop for Member Associations

As part of the IPMA Nation2Nation Forum [IN2F] events at the IPMA 2007 Congress in Cracow, a workshop for representatives of IPMA member associations will occur.

Global Panel Discussions

Project Management for business advantage, Project Management in Public Sector, Project Management in Research Programs. These panels will feature executives and leading project management experts and should not be missed.

Gala Dinner

A Gala Dinner for delegates, guests and IPMA leaders will take place in the Royal Castle in Niepołomice. This banquet will cap the annual IPMA World Congress, with special speeches, networking and social features – each year a major highlight and showcase for the congress organizers and delegates alike.
