Finalists Announced for APM 2007 Project Management Awards - Ceremony & Banquet to be October 30 during London APM National Conference

The Association for Project Management (APM), the main project management professional society in the United Kingdom (UK), will hold Project Management Awards dinner on the evening of October 30, 2007, day one of the 2007 APM Project Management Conference. The conference will be held at the Brewery Conference Centre in the City of London during October 30-31, 2007.

For the past 14 years the APM Project Management Awards have been rewarding and celebrating project management successes, from the Eden Project to record breaking round the world voyages. The awards reflect the invaluable contribution project management and project managers make in all sections of society. The finalists and winners attract national publicity and many benefit from a career boost as a result, both at business and individual levels.

Continuing the trend of recent years this will be the biggest APM event to date, combining the awards dinner with the first national APM Project Management Conference. All winners and runners-up receive a wealth of prizes and publicity.

Winners

Practitioners - an exclusive trophy (pictured) by British designer Nigel Cripps to be presented at the Awards dinner, a winner’s certificate, use of a winner’s logo, featured in unprecedented publicity throughout the year, featured as a case study on the APM Awards website and in the APM Awards brochure.

Academic - an exclusive trophy presented at the awards dinner, a winner’s certificate, use of a winner’s logo, and coverage in the APM awards brochure.
All winners will be featured in Project magazine’s awards special, and promoted throughout the 2008 awards campaign.

Runners-up

Runners-up receive a certificate, use of a finalists’ logo, featured in all awards publicity, announced as a finalist at the awards dinner, featured on the APM awards website and the APM awards brochure. Runners-up will also appear in a mini-feature in Project magazine awards special.

Finally, there are an additional three academic awards, the Geoffrey Trimble Award, the Herbert Walton Award, and the Brian Willis Award- all sponsored by BAE Systems.

The 2007 APM Project Management Conference - The Business of Projects – will be held at The Brewery Conference Centre in London during 30-31 October 2007. The first such event for the association in its long history, the 2007 conference will focus on project management “issues of national importance” in the UK. The two day conference is being formatted to include a plenary session to begin the conference, three main tracks of presentations and discussions each day, and a closing plenary.

During the conference, the following important project management topics of national interest in the UK will be discussed:

- Learning from Mega Projects
- Project Management in a Sustainable Society
