Invitation to Exhibitors & Sponsors for 2nd UT Dallas Project Management Symposium in Texas
A project management vendor exhibition and showcase is being planned for the 2nd UT Dallas Project Management Symposium, to be held on Monday and Tuesday 18-19 August 2008 on the University of Texas at Dallas campus in Richardson, Texas, USA. The conference is being sponsored by the Graduate Program in Project Management in the School of Management’s Executive Education Center at the University of Texas at Dallas (UT Dallas), in cooperation with the Dallas Chapter of the Project Management Institute (PMI®) and PMForum, Inc. Suppliers of program and project management products, services, software and technology are invited to participate in this major project management symposium, expected to be the largest such event in north Texas in 2008. It will also be one of the only such events held on a major university campus in the United States, so participants can note that for marketing purposes.

The 2 Day Project Management Symposium will focus on topics important to organizations, industries and the economy of North Texas and will include professional presentations and discussions on a variety of topics. Other Conference Features will include an Opening Ceremony with Keynote Speakers, breaks in the vendors’ exhibition area, a Monday evening networking reception and a closing keynote address.

Venue & Facilities

The Symposium will be held on the UT Dallas Campus, in the School of Management, a new facility with state of the art audio visual and multi-media technologies in each room.

The Vendor Exhibition area will include booth and table space for exhibitors in the reception area and main halls of the School of Management, the first time for such an arrangement at the school. Symposium participants will have maximize exposure to the exhibitors and sponsors between sessions and during breaks. Sponsorship Opportunities

The University is offering sponsorship opportunities for this symposium, which is expected to be the largest project management conference in Texas in 2008. Approximately 500 attendees are anticipated. A Call for Papes has been issued, with presenters to have symposium fees waived. Sponsors will receive maximum visibility at the University, will be featured on the conference website, and will receive complementary passes for employees, among other benefits. Both the PMI Dallas Chapter and the UTD’s Executive Education Program in the School of Management are registered education providers with PMI, so all attendees will receive Professional Development Units (PDUs), which is also expected to increase attendance.

The Project Management Program at UT Dallas provides application-oriented education for professionals with significant project, program or general management responsibilities. Established in the Executive Education center in the School of Management, students have the option of earning a Graduate Certificate in Project Management, a Master of Science degree with an emphasis in project management, or a Master of Business Administration degree with project management emphasis. The UT Dallas PM program, originally developed in 1997, is accredited by the Project Management Institute (PMI®) and is a PMI Registered Education Provider (PMI R.E.P.). The program is taught by world-class faculty with a blend of industrial project management, consulting and teaching experience. Founded in 1984, the PMI Dallas Chapter is one of the oldest PMI components in the world. With more than 3,800 members, it is also one of the largest. Monthly dinner meetings feature a wide variety of project management experts and topics, and typically attract over 200 attendees.
