The deadline for abstract submissions has been extended to 15th March 2008 for the
22nd IPMA World Congress on Project Management, ROMA 2008 – Project Management to Run – scheduled for November 9-11, 2008 in Rome, Italy. Project and program managers, experts and practitioners around the world are invited to submit abstracts for paper presentations at the Congress. With over 2,000 participants expected, the IPMA congress in Rome will be one of the largest project management conferences in the world this year.
Abstracts should be 150-200 words in length and focused on one of the following congress streams:
- Time dimension in project management
- Project management in the Mediterranean Basin and the Middle East
- Project management for large infrastructures and industrial plants
- Project management in public sectors and projects financed by international institutions
- Project management in main public events
- Project management in new fields
- New trends in project management
- Management by projects in industry
- Project portfolio and business process management
- Project management in history
- Soft skills: education and certification benefits
- Complex project managers
The official language of the congress is English. Abstracts should be typed in 12pt Times New Roman font in the MS Office Word format, 2000 or 2003 versions, with a lead author identified who will serve as the primary contact for congress correspondence.
Additional information to be supplied by lead author together with abstract includes title of the paper; name of lead author and any other author(s); up to 5 bullet points summarizing the content (aim, scope, main issues, conclusions); author(s) affiliations and short biography; lead author's postal address, phone, fax and email address; and Company/Institution's name and address.
Abstract and Paper production milestones are as follows:
- March 15, 2008 - Abstract submissions due
- April 30, 2008 - Notification of acceptance of abstracts
- July 31, 2008 - Final papers due from authors
- September 15, 2008 - Final announcement of accepted papers
Final papers and presentations should be free of commercial sales content, should focus on the subject of the title, and preferably provide new contributions to the topic. Length of the final paper should be 1000 to 2000 words in length.
