The PMI Dallas Chapter has announced final results from its annual Project Management Vendor Showcase that was held on 13 March 2008 at the Crowne Plaza North Dallas-Addison Hotel, in Addison, Texas, site of the chapter’s monthly dinner meetings. The event was free to PMI Dallas Chapter members and included plenty of food and entertainment.
According to
Dwaraka Iyengar (shown in photo with
John Baley, immediate past chapter president and current PMI Component Mentor for Region 6), “We had 33 vendors and 625 registered attendees. It was a little better turnout than last year, and continues the trend of making this one of our biggest events.”
John Baley noted, “The PMI Dallas Chapter’s annual vendor showcase is the biggest one in Region 6. The Dallas chapter is also the biggest PMI chapter in this region; it shows leadership in a number of areas. I’m proud of the chapter for staging this event so successfully every year.”

According to
Marilyn Sawyer (pictured during the Dallas Chapter’s drawings), Dallas Chapter VP Programs, “Our vendors really stepped up this year. The door prizes were the best that I can remember and there were a lot of them. We had many happy members tonight, which was wonderful!”
Participating vendors showcased project management software, training, consulting services, collaboration and facilitation services, staffing services and other solutions. While other PMI chapters hold vendor exhibitions, the PMI Dallas Chapter’s Vendor Showcase is one of the largest and most successful events of its kind in the world. The next big event for the PMI Dallas Chapter is the Professional Development Day, a one-day project management symposium scheduled for April 12, 2008.
