Final Details for the PMI Dallas Chapter Professional Development Day on April 12 Announced
The PMI Dallas Chapter's annual Professional Development Day (PDD) is scheduled for Saturday, 12 April 2008. The annual PDD will be from 7:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the Crowne Plaza North Dallas/Addison Hotel in Addison, Texas, USA.

According to the chapter’s promotion, project managers today are faced with any number of challenges, many of which they overcome by using the power of project management. Unfortunately, executives often underestimate the impact this power has on business success, and even project managers seldom realize the impact this power can have on their career growth. The PMI Dallas Chapter would like to invite you to learn how to unleash the power of project management for business success and career growth at our 2008 Annual Professional Development Day event on April 12, 2008.

Three keynote presentations will include:

Chuck Tryon – breakfast keynote speech on "What's So MODERN About PROJECT MANAGEMENT?" (http://www.pmforum.org/blogs/news/2008/04/whats-so-modern-about-project.html)

Ron Black – luncheon seminar on "Acrobatics for Overachievers: The Art and Science of Managing Multiple Projects and Priorities"

Drum Café – closing ceremony, using the universal languages of music and rhythm to energize, motivate and entertain!

14 breakout sessions with presentations and discussion throughout the day-long event will be aligned along four tracks: (1) The Power of PM Tools; (2) The Power of Project Management Skills; (3) The Power of Leadership Skills; and (4) The Strategic Power of Project Management. Speakers during the morning and afternoon sessions will include Atul Choudhary, Jack P. Ferraro, Dwaraka Iyengar, Dwight Davis, Gary Rechtfertig, Paul Burek, Robin Tracy, Kane Wai, Tony Johnson, Nayan D. Patel and John T. Cole.

According to Sherrie Karam, PMP, PMI Dallas VP Professional Development, “We’re very pleased to offer this opportunity to learn and discuss important project management topics. The speakers are all very high quality and we’re expecting everyone to leave energized and ready to apply what they’ve learned.”

The event is open to all business professionals with an interest in project management, and is appropriate for all experience levels. Discounts are provided for PMI members, who can receive eight professional development units (PDUs) for PMP recertification.
