NBI-WRPMP invites interested firms and joint ventures to provide project planning and management training

The Nile Basin Initiative's water resource planning and management project, which functions in nine countries: Burundi, Democratic Republic of Congo, Egypt, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Sudan, Tanzania and Uganda, has invited interested consulting firms/joint ventures to provide project planning and management training. NBI with a grant received from the African Development Fund (ADF) has intentions to train staffs of NBI countries so as to enhance their professional capacities with regard to preparing and implementing trans-boundary projects.


Accordingly, the consultant firm/venture shall;
It is required for the training to be organized in nine topics with participants from 9 NBI countries; training on each topic will take place in one of the aforementioned countries, covering the Nile Basin as a whole. The NBI, the executing agent for the project, thus, invites consulting firms to indicate their interest in providing the services. The firms/ventures shall provide a statement of capability and experience showing their qualification to perform the services.

The application is open to consulting firms/joint ventures from eligible source countries as defined in AfDB rules of procedures for use of consultants(2000 Edition). Mr. Getachew Teklemariam Aleum is an International Correspondent for PMForum and PM World Today based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Mr. Alemu is also an Infrastructure Projects Expert in the Development Projects Department of the NBI-WRPMP invites interested firms and joint ventures to provide project planning and management training Ministry of Finance and Economic Development, government of Ethiopia. This department is responsible for studying and controlling the project planning and management system at the federal level in the country. Getachew is responsible for monitoring, appraising and reporting on public sector infrastructure projects financed by the Ethiopian government or bilateral and multilateral donors. He has a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Land Resources Management and Environmental Protection from Mekelle University in Ethiopia. He has also been educated in marco economic development, infrastructure development in developing countries, national economic development and project management.
