New Research Project launched in Austria - Sectoral Process & Project Management

The pilot project Sectoral Process & Project Management is a new research project of the PROJEKTMANAGEMENT GROUP at the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration.

Objective of the research project is to define relevant sectors and identify within these sectors specific process and project types. Specific requirements of different sectors for process and project management are also identified together with partners from corresponding industries, and standards are developed for the process and project management.

In the current project phase the PROJEKTMANAGEMENT GROUP invites companies of Austria in the sectors ICT, hospitals, and Research & Development to take part in the research project Pilot: Sectoral Process & Project Management. Departments in the fields of Research & Development and hospitals can be cooperation partners in the research project as well.

Established in 1994, the PROJEKTMANAGEMENT GROUP PMG) is a department of the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration and offers high quality education and research in process and project management. The PMG offers a special subject “Project management” for master and bachelor students at the University and cooperates both in education and research with an international network of project-oriented enterprises and universities. Moreover the PMG contributes to the acceptance of the job profile “Project Manager” in Austria. The systemic-constructive research approach applied by the PMG and developed by Prof. Roland Gareis is internationally accepted. The current main research fields of the PMG are (sectorial) project management, project-oriented company, project-oriented society, family of mature models. Dr. Martina Huemann is an International Correspondent for PMForum in Vienna, Austria. Martina is a member of the faculty of the PROJEKTMANAGEMENT GROUP, Vienna University of Business Administration, Austria and an Adjunct Professor for Project Management at ESC Lille, France. She is a network partner of ROLAND GAREIS CONSULTING, board member of Project Management Austria, and member of the IPMA Research & Development Management Board. Martina holds Magister and Doctoral degrees from Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration. An experienced project manager, Martina advises companies, teaches project management and conducts research in project-oriented companies, project and program auditing, and maturity of project-oriented companies, industries and nations.
