OGC's updated Portfolio, Programme & Project Management Maturity Model to be introduced at Best Practice Showcase in London on 24 June
Reported by Miles Shepherd in the UK

The new P3M3 will be introduced at the Best Practice Showcase on 24 June in London. P3M3 stands for Portfolio, Programme, and Project Management Maturity Model. First released in 2006, P3M3 has recently undergone an extensive refresh to bring it in line with other Office of Government Commerce (OGC) publications - in particular the significant update to Managing Successful Programmes and the increasing recognition of the value of Corporate Portfolio Management.

P3M3 is designed to enable organisations to understand their current level of maturity and highlight areas that would give them the most value and performance improvement in the short and long terms.

The OGC will also be discussing the new P30 publication and qualification scheme. The P3O is a formalisation of guidance to delivery enablement and support offices, offering advice to organisations on current Best Management Practice thinking.

Exhibitor Maven Training will be offering a prize draw to win a set of three new books written by Melanie Franklin, CEO and Susan Tuttle, Lead Trainer both of Maven Training. The books, published for the first time on June 24th, have been written to help project managers with the so-called ‘softer’ skills of effective communication, leadership and team management.

The books are called: Melanie and Susan will be available at the event to talk to delegates about these important skills.

According to Emma Hilditch, event director, “This year’s Showcase is packed full of new and innovative tools and techniques to help project managers run their projects effectively and keep their skills up to date.”

The 6th Annual Best Practice Showcase, an event showcasing best practices in programme and project management, will take place at the QE11 Conference Centre in Westminster, UK on June 24th 2008.
