The Panama Chapter of the Project Management Institute (PMI) is seeking speakers for the 1st Annual PMI Panama Project Management Symposium to be held in Panama City, Panama on October 2, 2008. This major project management event is subtitled "The Land Divided - The Project World United" and will showcase the Panama Canal Expansion program.
Engineers, IT professionals, project managers and executives are invited to Panama for this major event, which will feature two major tracks: Construction Project Management & Technology Project Management (IT, product development, communications). Project Management experts and leaders are invited to present a proposal for a presentation at the conference on one of these themes.
Presentations will be 50 minutes, with 10 minutes for Q&A. Presentations may be in either English or Spanish. For information, contact

The all-day symposium, which will feature presentations, panel discussions, break-out sessions, focused workshops and networking opportunities, will be bilingual with translation available (Spanish or English). Registration fees are $225, $195 for PMI members, and $125 for students. Attendees can receive up to 7 PDUs for PMP recertification. The symposium venue will be the Panama Canal Authority Auditorium and facilities.
Local sponsors include the Panama Canal Authority and CH2M Hill, prime management contractor for the expansion. Participants will have an opportunity to tour the canal and meet the program manager.
