Carol Dekkers, President of Quality Plus Technologies, Inc., a management consulting firm based in Florida, USA, has joined the PM Ambassadors

Based in Seminole, Florida, Carol is a software project management, benchmarking, metrics, standards and quality expert who has been an advisor to many organizations and spoken on various aspects of software project management across the USA and in many other countries. She has now announced her availability to speak at project management events worldwide.
Carol Dekkers is President of Quality Plus Technologies, Inc., a progressive management consulting firm specializing in working with companies who want to improve their success with software intensive systems programs and projects.Ms. Dekkers works with clients to implement software measurement for estimating and process improvement, project and process management, process improvement, requirements, software sizing (using function point analysis), and team communication.
Carol has over twenty years of progressive experience across all phases of the systems development life cycle. Her project management experience spans multiple industries including financial, judicial, MIS, insurance, engineering and scientific systems, in both private and public sectors. Ms. Dekkers is a former President of the International Function Point Users Group (IFPUG) and has been active in leadership positions with the Project Management Institute (PMI®) (past chair of the PMI Metrics SIG), the American Society for Quality (ASQ software division council), and the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) software engineering standards subcommittee.
Carol has been a visiting scientist at the Software Engineering Institute (SEI), Carnegie Mellon University based in Pittsburgh, and currently holds credentials as a Project Management Professional (PMP), a Certified Management Consultant (CMC), a Certified Function Point Specialist (CFPS), and a Professional Engineer (Canada). Carol is a co-author of two new books (2008):
Program Management TOOLKIT for software and systems development (Talentum); and The IT Measurement Compendium: Estimating and Benchmarking Success with Functional Size Measurement (Springer), and of three previous books: Practical Project Estimation 2nd Edition (ISBSG) and two others, plus a myriad of over 60 published articles on communication for engineers and scientists, measurement, function points and software process improvement.
Ms. Dekkers is a seasoned presenter who works easily in new cultures and with foreign language translation services, and is well versed in the opportunities and challenges of global program management.
