Association for Project Management (APM) has announced that Dr. Neville Bain will be a featured speaker at the 2008 APM Project Management Conference,
"Success Through Projects" being held at the historic Brewery Conference Centre in London during 29-30 October 2008. Dr. Bain will speak on the importance of programme and project management to Britain’s economy and corporate efficiencies.
Dr Neville Bain, Chairman of Hogg Robinson, former non-executive Chairman of the British Post Office and management author, has been appointed Chairman of the Institute of Directors (IoD). He formally took up the position on 1
st May 2008 replacing Christopher Beale, who stood down after five years.
An experienced corporate figure, Neville is currently Chairman of the business services company, Hogg Robinson. During his career he has held international general management positions with Cadbury Schweppes and Coats Viyella, while non executive roles have included Safeway and Scottish and Newcastle. Originally from New Zealand, Neville, a Chartered Accountant, began his executive career as a Finance Director. He also holds a Masters Degree in Commerce and a Doctorate in Law. Married with three children, he now lives in Surrey.
He has been on the Council of the IoD since 1997 and has already chaired several internal committees. Looking forward to his term in office Dr Bain said: "I am looking forward to the role and working with the team, in the best interests of members, to provide quality services and opportunities for director improvement."
