3rd Annual UT Dallas Project Management Symposium Announced for August 2009
The Graduate Program in Project Management in the School of Management at the University of Texas at Dallas (UT Dallas) has announced that The 3rd Annual UT Dallas Project Management Symposium will be held at the university in Richardson, Texas during 13-14 August 2009. The announcement was made on 15 September, and was based on the success of the 2nd UTD Project Management Symposium recently completed in August that featured over 40 speakers and 225 attendees.

According to Jim Joiner (pictured), Director of the UT Dallas graduate program in project management, "Our first symposium in 2007 was a success; our second one this year was even better. With the third symposium next year, we expect to attract even more attention from project-oriented organizations in North Texas. Based on our experiences with the first two conferences, we believe we now have the leading project management event in this region. We want the 3rd annual symposium to be one of the best knowledge sharing and learning events in the project management world next year."

A call for papers will be released soon along with invitations to potential exhibitors and sponsors. Also, according to Mr. Joiner, "early bird discounts" will be offered this year to both attendees and sponsors. The 3rd Annual UT Dallas Project Management Symposium will again be a traditional professional conference with keynote speeches, paper presentations, panel discussions, and networking opportunities, spread over two days. Next year's event is expected to attract between 250 and 350 participants and will be one of the largest PM events in the North Texas region.

Information will be posted soon at http://pmsymposium.utdallas.edu/, where information about the 2008 symposium can still be found. For early information regarding the 2009 symposium please contact pmsymposium@utdallas.edu.
