International Project Management Forum 2008 in Beijing in November Announced
The International Project Management Forum 2008 (IPMF 2008) will be held from 1st - 2nd November 2008 at Tsinghua University in Beijing, China. The conference is being organized by the Greater China Project Management Advancement Committee (GPAC)

Supported by the Project Management Institute (PMI), the International Project Management Association (IPMA) and other recognized professional organizations, the Greater China Project Management Advancement Committee (GPAC) and Tsinghua University will jointly host this international forum. The forum will advance the theme of "Project Management Best Practice ---- Integrating Strategy, Organization and Implementation", by exchanging best practices in greater China region.


At IPMF 2008, professionals from mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and some Southeast Asian countries will show their project management expertise in enhancing cost-effectiveness and efficiency, and provide valuable insights into successful applications of modern project management with real-life case studies.

This forum will be a platform for exchanging best practices in greater China region. This summit conference will help professionals to exert the project management philosophy: enjoy-together and all-win, to apply the technologies and means in different fields including post-disaster reconstruction, so as to achieve the goals of the project, the organization and the stakeholders efficiently, and at the same time the forum is contributed to enhance our exchange and long-term cooperation.

IPMF is the annual meeting of GPAC, and is also a grand event of project management in the Greater China region. IPMF2005 themed “Best Project Management Practice in China” was held successfully in Tsinghua University. IPMF2006 themed “Achieving Prosperity, Efficiency, and Reliability” was held successfully in Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center. IPMF2007 themed “Strategic Thinking of Project, Program and Portfolio Management: Transforming Concept to Value” was held successfully in Taipei. Now in 2008, IPMF is back to Tsinghua University, with the theme of “Project Management Best Practices: Integrating Strategy, Organization and Implementation.”

Meeting fee: for regular participants, the registration fee is 2800 Yuan each (with meals and meeting material covered). For certified PMP/ IPMP members, the registration fee is 2600 Yuan each (with meals and meeting material covered). Participants that attend the whole forum will be presented with 14 PDUs. Institute of International Engineering Project Management (IIEPM), Tsinghua University, was established on November 9, 2000, under the support of the former Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation (the present Ministry of Commerce). It is engaged in production, education and research to implement the "Going Out" strategy of the State as well as to cultivate project management talents to meet market demand after China's entry into WTO. The purpose of IIEPM is to promote engineering project management of China and the competence capability of China enterprises in the industry as well as into the international market.

In October 2004, a group of elites in the Greater China region converged in Hong Kong and founded the Greater China Project Management Advancement Committee (GPAC), which commenced their relentless efforts for the research and development project management in the region. After four years' vigorous communication, training, and development, the significance of project management has been recognized and become THE essential understanding of the Government and people. The project management professional certification becomes the new wave in China. IPMF is the annual meeting of GPAC. It is also a grand event of the Greater China region in project management, organized by GPAC Beijing, GPAC Hong Kong and GPAC Taiwan in turn every year.
