Linda Vella will lecture at PMDay in Buenos Aires

Linda Vella, Director-at-Large and former Chair of the Board of Directors of the Project Management Institute (PMI) has been confirmed as a speaker at PMDay, an educational seminar organized by IAAP Global. The event will be hold on October 1st at Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Ms. Vella will lecture on the Value of Project Management, the results from the research conducted by Janice Thomas and Mark Mullaly at the University of Athabasca in Canada, supported and directed by PMI. The research results were presented at the PMI Research Congress on Poland, last month of July. Results strongly demonstrate the value that Project Management adds to organizations applying it systematically. Ms. Vella´s presentation is a great opportunity for professionals in Argentina to learn about this research.

PMDay is organized by IAAP, a Registered Education Provider (REP) of PMI. The event includes conferences on actual trends on Project Management: Cultural change on multi-cultural projects, starting a PMO, Probabilistic analysis of project risks, Risk management: a practical example, Best practices on Portafolio management, and a synthesis of PM trends, achievements and challenges for PM on Latin America. Ana Maria Rodriguez is an International Correspondent for www.pmforum.org in Argentina. Ms. Rodriguez is also a Project Management Consultant to the Engineering and Construction Industry in Rosario, Argentina, and an adjunct professor of project management at the Universidad Nacional de Rosario. Colombian by birth, Ms. Rodriguez graduated with a Civil Engineering Degree from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogota and from the University of Texas at Austin, USA with a Masters Degree in Construction Engineering and Project Management (MSE). From 2003 to 2005, Ms Rodriguez implemented and ran the Rosario Habitat Program PM office, funded by the Inter American Development Bank (IADB). During the last few years Ana María has been in charge of the planning, monitoring and control for large turnaround projects in the Automobile, Petrochemical, Steel and Paper Industries in the Rosario region. Ms. Rodriguez is an active member of PMI in Argentina, being a member of the Buenos Aires Chapter and supporting the formation of new chapters in the cities of Mendoza and Rosario.
