Mr. Antonello Bove, an international development and investment consultant based in Washington, DC, has been named an International Correspondent for PMForum and the monthly
PM World Today eJournal. Antonello is a Consultant for the Inter-American Investment Corporation (IIC), the private investment arm of the Inter-American Development Bank, a multilateral development Bank based in Washington DC, (
www.iadb.org), where he has worked since 2003. He spends a lot of time in Rome, and will represent PMForum during his work and travels in various international locations.
At IIC, Antonello is the leader of the Italian Development Program, a program designed to strengthen European ties with Latin America and the Caribbean; He spends his time between Italy, Latin America and the USA. The program is creating a network of enterprises and organizations that are involved in import, export, and FDI with the focus on providing finance for medium and long term investments. The program also helps develop strategic alliances with European organizations such as Chambers of Commerce, Industrial Associations, International Organizations and Financial Institutions, and between those organizations and enterprises in Latin America.
Antonello Bove was previously CEO of Robur Corporation in Indiana, USA, a manufacturer and marketer of gas absorption air-conditioning technology for residential, commercial and industrial markets. At Robur he was CEO & General Manger (1997 – 2002), Executive VP & General Manager (1996 – 1997), Board Member & VP Financial Restructuring (1995). He was hired at Robur to turn around an under-performing company and accelerate its transformation from a manufacturing company to a market-driven entity. Some of the highlights from that period of his career included:
- Co-founded the Gas Absorption Alliance, an association of prominent gas utilities in the United States
- Formed an alliance with the Southern California Gas Company, the largest United States gas utility
- Established an OEM Agreement with Hitachi in Japan, 1996.
- Formed a partnership with the American Gas Cooling Center and the American Gas Association in Washington DC
- Created a taskforce with the Gas Technology Institute in Chicago, IL, to train and transfer technology to mechanical engineers
- Collaborated with the Australian Gas Association through the Gas Cooling Task Force in Australia.
- Became the first company in HVAC industry to sell parts via the Internet
- Negotiated a three-year 2 million contract with the US Department of Energy for the research of gas heat pump systems to reduce electric consumption
- Introduced new high-efficiency gas cooling technology from R&D to the manufacturing process
- Lobbied the United States Congress to raise funds for gas cooling technology.
- Negotiated three union contracts with the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, AFL-CIO Indiana, and USA Operations
- Introduced “Just-In-Time” and “TQC” (Total Quality Control) with a 50% decrease
in inventory with significant cost savings
- Developed a pilot project with the University of Southern Indiana to provide on-site continuing education programs for all employees including union and non-union personnel.
- Received the 2000 State of Indiana Quality Improvement Award.
- Developed, implemented and managed ISO 9002 program
Antonello participated in a US federal government program sponsored by the Clinton Administration and the US Department of Energy to develop and implement innovative technologies for energy efficiencies. He was an International Executive Advisor for the World Renewable Energy Congress (WREC2006) in Florence, Italy in 2006.
From 1990 to 1995, Antonello was a Partner at Proginvest s.r.l. in Rome, Italy, an advisory firm providing financial planning services to various industries, in particular the healthcare and manufacturing. During 1988 - 1990, he was a Business development & government affairs manager at IniziativaS.p.A (Milan-Rome, Italy), today Ernst & Young, where he provided government loan consulting services for industrial companies seeking financial support for projects focused on new products and manufacturing processes.
Since 2005, Antonello has been a visiting professor at ABITA - Project Management University of Florence, Italy. He was previously an adjunct professor of International Business and Project Management in the School of Business Administration, University of Evansville in Indiana. Antonello is the author of the recently published project management book,
La metodologia dei 12 Step, published in Italy by Hoepli in 2008.

Additional executive education has included the “Executive Negotiation Program” Parts I & II, at Harvard University Law School, Cambridge, Massachusetts (1999-2000); “Managing People for Maximum Performance” Harvard University, J.F. Kennedy School of Government, Massachusetts, USA (2001); the Certificate Program in ‘Project Management” at Indiana and Purdue Universities (IUPUI), Indianapolis, USA (2003); the Certification in International Business Management from Georgetown University, Washington, DC (2006); and several others related to quality, management, manufacturing and project management.
A member of the “Italian Association of Journalists” since 1987, he is also a current member of the Project Management Institute (PMI
®) and the American Management Association (AMA).
