PMForum Correspondent in Ethiopia Admitted to ESC Lille
Mr. Getachew Teklemariam Alemu, an international correspondent for PMForum and PM World Today in Ethiopia, has received notice of acceptance for admission to study for a Master of Science (MSc) degree in "programme and project management" at the Ecole Supérieure de Commerce de Lille (ESC Lille) in France. He is set to start his study by February 2009.

Getachew is currently an infrastructure projects expert at the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development of Ethiopia in Addis Ababa. He is also one of the active, young and motivated correspondents for PMForum and PM World Today, authoring numerous new articles and alerting the world to developments affecting PM in his country. Getachew is also an active steering committee member for the new African Center for Excellence in Project Management (ACEPM), which is an African initiative to address African problems with regard to project management.

According to Getachew (pictured), "This is an opportunity to a lifetime for me, to study in France at one of the world’s leading business schools. My father is very proud! I want to thank PMForum for giving me the opportunity to participate in the global project management community, and for their introduction to ESC. I hope I can succeed and return to Addis to help bring Ethiopian people out of such historic problems."

With the generous support of ESC-Lille, he is granted a tuition scholarship to study at ESC’s Paris campus. Yet, he also needs additional financial support to cover his living expenditure, accommodation, flights, and health insurance for the duration of his study. Hence, any individual or company who can help him in any way possible could contact him through his e-mail at getdem2006@yahoo.com or getupfront@gmail.com. He would also welcome professional advice that anyone can provide him in this regard.

Founded in 1892, ESC Lille (Lille School of Management – www.esc-lille.com) is one of the oldest business schools in France, with campuses in Lille and Paris. It is also the first institution outside North America to receive GACPM accreditation by the Project Management Institute (PMI®). The project management program at ESC Lille was inaugurated in 1979. ESC Lille offers postgraduate programs in project management: two masters in project & program management (one taught in English, the other in French), a MBA in Strategy, Program & Project Management (English), and a PhD in Strategy, Program & Project Management (English). ESC Lille research activities in project & program management are grouped together into the International Centre for Project Management and Analysis (CIMAP).

Editor's Note: ESC Lille has generously offered Getachew a scholarship for tuition and fees. However, Getachew need additional financial support to complete this graduate studies in PPM. His field is international development; his work experience is infrastructure development in Ethiopia. His dream is to become a leading expert and advisor in this fiend in order to help his Ethiopia and other African countries accelerate their economic development. Living and working in Ethiopia, one of Africa’s poorest and most populated countries, it has been impossible for Getachew to accumulate the funds needed to study abroad. We encourage readers to contact Getachew and offer some assistance.
