Association for Project Management (APM) has announced that
Professor
Darren Dalcher has been appointed Conference Chair for the 2009 APM
Project Management Conference -
Delivering Projects Professionally - to
be held on Wednesday, 21
st October 2009 at the Brewery in London. The
conference will be an interactive forum providing participants with an
insight into the development of effective project professionals.
Darren
Dalcher (pictured) is Director of the National Centre for Project
Management, Professor of Software Project Management at Middlesex
University, UK and Visiting Professor of Computer Science at the
University of Iceland. Professor Dalcher is active in a number of
international committees, steering groups and editorial boards. He is
heavily involved in organising international conferences, and has
delivered numerous keynote addresses and tutorials. Well known
throughout the UK's project and programme management communities, he is
editor of the Advances in Project Management book series and was listed
as one of APM's top ten influential experts in PM in 2008.
The
APM conference will address such issues as project sponsorship,
training and development, growing the skill-set of project
professionals and the benefits of the new Chartered status, which the
APM is pursuing. An invitation for speakers and presentations has been
issued around these topics. The 2009 conference will also see the
annual Awards banquet on the evening of Wednesday, 21 October 2009.
