Edivandro Conforto has been honored with the
IPMA Young Research Honor
award at the 23
rd IPMA World Congress in Helsinki, Finland. Mr Conforto
received the award based on his achievements in project management
research. Mr Conforto accepted the award on 16.6.2009, and delivered
his presentation
Development of an agile project management method
applied to product development in small technology-based companies at
the congress research seminar on 17.6.2009.
Mr
Conforto finds the IPMA Young Research Honor a great opportunity to
divulgate his project management research results and also debate the
theme with project management specialists at 23
rd IPMA 2009 World
Congress. His current research topics include agile project management
with focus in new product development, PMO, and how to adapt and
implement project management best practices and methodologies to fit
turbulent and dynamic environments' requirements, such technology-based

Dr
Martina Huemann, director of the
IPMA Research Awards, member of the
IPMA Research Management Board, and International Correspondent for
PMForum in Vienna, Austria, explains IPMA established the IPMA Research
Awards some years ago to promote excellent project management
researchers, and continues:

recognize excellence in research of young researchers, who are getting

Mr
Conforto has a degree in Business Administration Science. He has gained
relevant experience in Project Management, Logistics, International
Business and Administration by working in world class companies. He
also took a course in Project Management at UNICAMP (State University
of Campinas).
Mr Conforto holds a master's degree in Production
Engineering at São Paulo University (USP), with a thesis applying
project management and new product development areas. His most recent
research activities include an action-research in project management
with two small technology-based firms.
Mr Conforto's current
research interests include New Product Development (NPD), Project
Management (PM), Project Management Offices (PMOs) and Agile Project
Management (APM).
