24th IPMA World Congress on Project Management to be in Istanbul, Turkey in November 2010
The International Project Management Association (IPMA) has announced that the 24th IPMA World Congress will be held in Istanbul, Turkey during 1-3 November 2010. The announcement was officially made at the 23rd IPMA World Congress in Helsinki during 15-17 June 2009, where representatives of the 2010 world congress had a visible presence in the partner exhibition.

The theme for the 24th IPMA World Congress on Project Management in Istanbul next year will be "Challenges & Opportunities." The congress will be aimed at identifying and discussing the changes needed to tackle challenges and seize opportunities brought about by new realities in the global economy. Information for potential partners is available now; the Call for Papers will be issued soon. For more information, visit www.ipma2010.com.

The 24th IPMA World Congress will be held at the Hilton Istanbul Hotel, located at Cumhuriyet Caddessi, Harbiye, Istanbul, Turkey. Istanbul has been chosen as the host city for the 2010 IPMA world congress because of its historical and cultural heritage, and also for its location. Istanbul is at the center of the economic and political area known as Eurasia, where three regions - Europe, the former Soviet Union and the Middle East - intersect. It is the perfect place for project managers and experts to assemble to discuss changes in the world of projects and project management.

The local host of the 24th IPMA World Congress on Project Management in Istanbul will be Project Management Association in Turkey (TrPMA), based in Ankara. It is the national membership body for Turkey in IPMA. The Chairman of the 24th IPMA World Congress is Prof. Dr. Çetin Elmas. For further information, visit www.trpma.org.

According to Professor Elmas, "Everyone involved with project management should plan to come to Istanbul next year. It will be very educational and stimulating, and we now have enough time to organize outstanding technical and social programs. You will be very welcome in Turkey next November."
