Successful Author and Corporate Executive Tony Parella to deliver Keynote Speech at 3rd Annual UT Dallas Project Management Symposium on 14 August
Reported by Ann R. Miller in Dallas

Tony Parella, President and CEO of Shared Technologies, will deliver the opening keynote speech on 14 August, the second day of the 3rd Annual UT Dallas Project Management Symposium in August. The regional project management conference, which will be held on The University of Texas at Dallas (UT Dallas) campus in Richardson, Texas during 13-14 August 2009, is being sponsored by the Graduate Program in Project Management (PM) in the School of Management's Executive Education Center at UT Dallas, in partnership with the Dallas Chapter of the Project Management Institute (PMI®) and PMForum. The theme for this year's UT Dallas Project Management Symposium will be "Managing in a Changing World".

Anthony "Tony" J. Parella is President, CEO and Director of Shared Technologies Inc. A 21-year veteran of the telecommunications industry, Parella's professional accomplishments include building several successful businesses from the ground up and playing a significant role in taking two companies public. Prior to joining Shared Technologies in 2002, Parella was a co-founder of Allegiance Telecom in 1997 and served in a variety of executive management positions. Tony also served as Vice President and General Manager at MFS Intelenet and held leadership positions at Sprint. He is a graduate of Morrisville College. Tony Parella is the author of "Fractured to Fortune", a book considered a "roadmap for changing corporate culture."

Shared Technologies earned a spot on the 2008 "Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For" list, placing 25th overall and third for job-growth. At an early age, Tony's father, Carmen, instilled a belief that helped shaped Tony's leadership philosophy, "Take care of the company, and the company will take care of you."

In his book "Fractured To Fortune", Tony Parella recounts the remarkable transformation of Shared Technologies, a company that in just four years emerged from the depths of bankruptcy with a broken culture to become recognized as one of Fortune magazine's "100 Best Companies to Work For." As Shared Technologies exited bankruptcy, Parella, a dynamic, passionate and "hand's on" leader, knew there must be a better way. In January 2005, he laid the foundation to begin revolutionizing the company's culture and approach to doing business, which included:

* Revolutionizing the way employees were treated
* Revolutionizing the way the company treated and serviced customers
* Delivering revolutionary results to the investors

According to the book's publicity, "Fractured To Fortune" serves as a "how-to" guide, and a roadmap to help you positively transform your corporate culture. Parella shows that by following a simple mantra of focusing on the employee experience, marked improvements will follow. Project managers and PM experts, leaders and professionals living and working in North Texas are invited to register now for this major regional project management conference. Don't miss this opportunity to meet and hear the one of the most successful business leaders in North Texas.
