A Call for Papers has been issued for the
4th UT Dallas Project Management Symposium, to be held August 12-13, 2010 at the University of Texas at Dallas, in the School of Management, Richardson Texas. The conference is being sponsored by the Graduate Program in Project Management at the University of Texas at Dallas, in cooperation with PMForum and the PMI Dallas Chapter. The 2-day Project Management Symposium will focus on topics important to organizations, industries and the economy of North Texas.
Deadlines
- Abstracts with Bio and Photo Due February 26, 2010.
- Papers to be selected by April 9, 2010.
Project management professionals, experts and executives interested in presenting a paper at the 3
rd Annual UT Dallas PM Symposium next August should e-mail abstract, bio and photo to
pmsymposium@utdallas.edu. Based on the success of the 3
rd UTD Project Management Symposium recently completed in August 2009, which featured over 40 speakers and 225 attendees, more paper proposals are expected than speaking opportunities, so competitive topics and abstracts should be submitted.
Paper abstracts should be on one of the following proposed track topics:

- Global Program & Project Management
- Telecom & Information Technology Project Mgmt

- Program & Project Mgmt Tools& Techniques
- Project Management Governance
- Human Factors in Project Management (communications, leadership, conflict management, etc.)
- Management of Public Sector Programs and Projects
- Financial Aspects of Project Management
Abstract Submission Guidelines
Papers should not have been previously published.
- Papers and presentations should be free of commercial sales content.
- Papers and presentations should focus on the subject of the title, and provide new contributions to the topic.
- The length of the abstract should be between 150 and 250 words.
- Abstracts shall be typed in 12pt Times New Roman font in the MS Office Word format, 2003 or 2007 versions.
- Each abstract must have a lead author who will serve as the primary contact for all correspondence.
- Length of the final paper should be 1000 to 2000 words in length.
The 2 Day Project Management Symposium will include an Opening Ceremony with Keynote Speakers, professional presentations, panel discussions, lunches and coffee breaks, a Monday evening networking reception and a closing plenary session with keynote speakers. Participants can receive 10 PDUs for presenting a paper, and additional PDUs for attending. Presenters will also have fees waived.
The symposium will be sponsored by the Graduate Program in Project Management at The University of Texas at Dallas (UT Dallas), in cooperation with the Dallas Chapter of the Project Management Institute (PMI®) and PMForum, Inc. Both the PMI Dallas Chapter and UT Dallas are registered education providers with PMI, so attendees can easily receive Professional Development Units (PDUs) for PMP recertification. The Project Management Program at UT Dallas provides application-oriented education for professionals with significant project, program or general management responsibilities.
