Online Abstract submission added for 2010 IPMA World Congress on Project Management in Istanbul
The Call for Papers for the 24th IPMA World Congress in Istanbul, Turkey during 1-3 November 2010 is till open. Now the congress organizing team has announced the addition of an online abstract submission option on the World Congress website - at http://www.pleksus.com.tr/ipma2010/abstract/. Project management experts and leaders worldwide are invited to submit proposals for professional papers and presentations for the 2010 World Congress, which will be one of the biggest events in the project management world in 2010.

The theme for the 24th IPMA World Congress on Project Management in Istanbul next year will be "Challenges & Opportunities." The 24th IPMA World Congress 2010 will incorporate research, development and practice, as well as case-oriented streams that identify the changes needed to tackle challenges and seize opportunities in today's world economy.

Potential topics of interest are:
  • Challenges for and benefits of Project Management 
  • How new realities in the world economy affect strategies for Project Management. 
  • Development of Project Management, including global, regional, bilateral and national. 
  • Theories, approaches, principles and applications of Project Management. 
  • Assessment techniques and practices in Project Management 
  • Future trends in Project Management, including the impact of emerging technologies 
  • Creating interactive and collaborative Project Management environments 
  • Improving the quality of Project Management through evaluation; including education and certification 
  • Project, portfolio management and multi-project environments. 
  • Complexity in project management 
  • Building and implementing Project Management Strategies in Institutions, Companies and Public Sector Organisations 
  • Design and development of learning material for Project Management

Project managers, professional leaders and experts are welcome to submit abstracts for possible presentations on one or more of these topics. Abstracts, along with author background and contact information should be submitted online or forwarded to Tolga Ozek at tolga@ipma2010.com, who can also provide more information about the congress.

The 24th IPMA World Congress will be held at the Hilton Istanbul Hotel (pictured at left), located at Cumhuriyet Caddessi, Harbiye, Istanbul, Turkey. Istanbul has been chosen as the host city for the 2010 IPMA world congress because of its historical and cultural heritage, and also for its location. Istanbul is at the center of the economic and political area known as Eurasia, where three regions - Europe, the former Soviet Union and the Middle East - intersect.

The local host of the 24th IPMA World Congress on Project Management in Istanbul will be Project Management Association in Turkey (TrPMA), based in Ankara. It is the national membership body for Turkey in IPMA. The Chairman of the 24th IPMA World Congress is Prof. Dr. Çetin Elmas.

Project Management Association in Turkey (TrPMA) provides projects-related information of Turkish and international levels through various media.
