Alex Jalalian named First Assessor by Project Management Association of Canada
The Project Management Association of Canada - Association de Management de Projet du Canada (PMAC-AMPC) has announced that Alex Jalalian has been appointed a "First Assessor" for IPMA certification reviews. PMAC-AMPC represents the IPMA (International Project Management Association) in Canada.

Alex Jalalian, BCompSc(Honours), MSc in International Management , has a wealth of project management educational and industry experience. Along with his BSc in Computer Science with Mathematics, Alex has completed many project management courses and is currently finishing a Doctorate degree with a concentration in Project Management. He is currently teaching project management to MBA students in France and is working as an international consultant in project management. As one of the "First Assessors" certified with PMAC-APMC Alex, brings his international project management expertise to the association and is a currently the PMAC Director of Awards.

According to Alex, "IPMA is always looking for ways to promote project management on the International level. While focusing on project management in Canada, one of PMAC-APMC's mandates is to support the international project management scene while maintaining its unique Canadian culture. I look forward to helping in this important process."

Others also named "First Assessors" are Keith Farndale, Grant Kerr, Kevin Aguanno and Morley Selver. According to the announcement from PMAC, the appointment of the first assessors is a major step forward for Canada, PMAC-AMPC and IPMA.

One of the primary missions of the PMAC-AMPC is to provide independent third party assessments of project, program and project portfolio management competence for Canadian professionals. To that end, the organization provides a number of certification options. The levels of the IPMA certification range from the lowest, Level D, to the highest, Level A. The 4 level certification of IPMA not only provides a process where project managers can develop the skills necessary to lead and manage people but it provides a meaningful career path for project managers. In compliance with IPMA regulations and international standard ISO 17024, the association operates an independent Certification Body (CB) to provide for competence (i.e. knowledge and experience) assessments of its members who are seeking PMAC-provided qualifications. The day-to-day operation of the CB is completely independent of the PMAC's Board of Directors. The Director of Certification, a PMAC Board of Directors position, sits as the head of the CB's Strategic Management Board (SMB). The current Director of Certification and Chair of the CB's SMB is Tamer Atiba.
