Global Project Management Company Fluor to Support US Army in Haiti
Reported by Ann Miller in Dallas

Fluor Corporation, a global construction and project management company based in Irving, Texas, has announced that the U.S. Army has chosen Fluor Government Group (FGG) as a Haiti relief support contractor. Under the Army's Logistics Civil Augmentation Program (LOGCAP) IV contract, Fluor will perform work as part of Task Order 6 to provide support and services to U.S. military and government personnel in the wake of the January 12 Haiti earthquake.

Fluor is now working with the Army to optimize the response approach. The scope of work will likely include building and maintaining several logistical support areas in the general Port-au-Prince vicinity. It is expected that initially Fluor will provide construction services, followed by sustainment services and logistics support.

"We are honored to be chosen by the Army to support the U.S. military personnel who are bringing aid to the Haitian people as part of the recovery effort. We know the country well, having built the recently completed U.S. Embassy in Haiti with the help of several hundred local workers. We have a great respect for the nation and its people. Our company is privileged to be able to support the military's humanitarian mission," said Bruce Stanski (pictured at left), president of Fluor's Government Group.

Established by the U.S. Army to support the U.S. Department of Defense's global mission during contingency events, LOGCAP provides the military with additional capabilities to rapidly meet the logistic requirements of its deployed forces through use of a civilian contractor.

Fluor serves the U.S. Government in a variety of areas including mission support in Iraq and Afghanistan, military construction around the world, previous hurricane relief along the Gulf Coast, earthquake relief in the western United States, and nuclear decommissioning at government-owned sites.

Fluor Corporation (NYSE: FLR) designs, builds and maintains many of the world's most challenging and complex projects. Through its global network of offices on six continents, the company provides comprehensive capabilities and world-class expertise in the fields of engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, operations, maintenance and project management.
