The organizing team has announced that the
24th IPMA World Congress
will take place under the patronage of
Mr. Binali YILDIRIM, Minister of
Transport and Communication, Turkish Republic. The 24
th IPMA World
Congress on Project Management will be held during 1-3 November, 2010
at the Hilton İstanbul Hotel, located at Cumhuriyet Caddesi, Harbiye,
İstanbul, Turkey.
Mr.
YILDIRIM, pictured at left, said: "We are now planning and implementing
some of the largest and most important transportation and communication
projects in Turkey's history. Some of these investments are to create
jobs in response to the global economic situation of the last year, but
all are important for the future of Turkey. Modern project management
is critical to the success of these programs and projects; this is the
reason to support this important congress in İstanbul."
The
Turkish Ministry of Transportation and Communication has been
responsible for many projects in recent years, some of which are
critical for the economic development of the country, including the
following:
- High Speed Train - which is the 6th in
Europe and the 8th in the world - Project (Ankara-Eskisehir part
finished, Project ongoing in different routes)
- Marmaray Project which connects Europe and Asia under Marmara Sea with a very deep tunnel (Project ongoing)
- 3rd bridge over Bosporus Strip connecting Europe and Asia (tender period coming, Project ongoing)
- Antalya, Ankara, Dalaman, İstanbul Airport Terminals (Projects finished)
- Highways (Projects ongoing)
- Bolu Mountain Tunnel - connecting Ankara and İstanbul

th IPMA World

theme for the
24th IPMA World Congress on Project Management in
İstanbul this year will be
"Challenges & Opportunities." The 24
th
IPMA World Congress 2010 will incorporate research, development and
practice, as well as case-oriented streams that identify the changes
needed to tackle challenges and seize opportunities in today's world
economy. The Call for Papers is still open, so project management
experts and leaders worldwide are invited to submit proposals for
professional papers and presentations for the 24
th IPMA World Congress,
which will be one of the biggest events in the project management world
in 2010.

th IPMA World Congress will be held in İstanbul, which has been
chosen as the host city for the 2010 IPMA world congress because of its
