Association application for membership in the
International Project
Management Association (IPMA) was unanimously approved by the
IPMA
Council of Delegates at the council meeting on March 28th 2010 in The
Hague, Netherlands. The AMIP IPMA membership is a result of the IPMA
LACC Project which is introducing Latin American countries to IPMA
membership and operations. AMIP was represented in Council of Delegates
meeting by Dr
Benjamin Figueroa Sandoval, AMIP President, Dr
Oscar
Figueroa, AMIP Board member, and Mr
Jorge Peart, AMIP Board member and
Chairman of the AMIP Certification Body.
Dr
Figueroa Sandoval, AMIP President, has been head of the Rural
Development Office from the Ministry of Agriculture in Mexico, as well
as General Director of the Colegio de Postgraduados, a teaching and
research institution for agricultural sciences. Dr Figueroa has a vast
experience in project managing in education, research and development
in agricultural areas for rural development. At the moment he is
leading several research and development projects in the states of San
Luis Potosí and Campeche, Mexico. Dr Figueroa Sandoval can be contacted

Mrs
Brigitte Schaden, IPMA President, says "I am so happy to see Mexico
coming back to the IPMA family. I am sure that with this new and active
member association IPMA has a strong and visible partner in Middle
America. It's so important for us to provide our services there. The
market demand for our competency-based 4 Level Certification System is
increasing. For IPMA it's a must to give the project managers in Mexico

Mr
Miles Shepherd, IPMA Council of Delegates Chairman, commented that the
accession of the Mexican Association marks another major step for IPMA:

AMIP was warmly
welcomed in to the global family of IPMA Member Associations by all
participants of the IPMA Council of Delegates.

Association (IPMA) is the oldest project management professional
