PM World Tomorrow - New Refereed Project Management Journal Announced at PM05 Conference in Greece
A new refereed project management journal, to be called PM World Tomorrow, was announced at the Greek Project Management Association's 5th Scientific Conference on Project Management (SCPM), also known as PM05. The PM05 conference was held during 29-31 May at the Mövenpick Resort and Thalasso Hotel near the Greek city of Heraklion, on the Mediterranean island of Crete. More information on the conference can be found at http://2010.pmgreece.gr.

The new journal will be a joint initiative of the Performance Based Studies Research Group (PBSRG) in the Del E Webb School of Construction at Arizona State University (ASU) in the USA and PMForum, Inc., publisher of the monthly Non-refereed PM World Today eJournal.

The new PM World Tomorrow, which will initially also be an eJournal but with a possible hard copy version, was first announced by David Pells, PMForum's Managing Editor, at the end of his keynote address at the PM05 conference on 29 May. The new journal was again announced by Professor Dean Kashiwagi of ASU during his plenary presentation at the conference on 30 May.

According to Prof Kashiwagi, "PM World Tomorrow will be focused on exciting new and breakthrough ideas that change current paradigms for managing programs and projects. We want to challenge researchers, from graduate students to experienced researchers, to seek out and study new concepts and models. The world is both changing and globalizing rapidly; the project management field needs to adapt to keep pace."

According to David Pells, PMForum's representative at the PM05 conference, "The new journal will offer another important publishing vehicle for serious academics and other researchers who are really focused on the future of project management. We are excited to team up with Professor Kashiwagi and his team to advance the project management profession."

"The new journal will complement our current publication, PM World Today," Pells added. "It will be for serious academic leaders and researchers who need a refereed journal for publishing research results. PM World Today will continue to be an option for practitioners and professional leaders to publish articles and papers without the delays or potential rejections often associated with a refereed publication."

An initial Call for Papers for the inaugural edition has also been issued.
