DALLAS, TX - January 25, 2007 -

PMForum.org announced today that it will co-sponsor a major project management conference in Texas in 2007, the 1st UTD Project Management Symposium, with the University of Texas at Dallas (UTD) and the Dallas Chapter of the Project Management Institute (PMI®). The conference is now scheduled for 6-7 August 2007 and will be held at the Plano Center in Plano, Texas. The conference was officially announced on Thursday, 11 January 2007 at the Dallas PMI Chapter’s annual Vendor Showcase.

As a co-sponsor, PMForum.org will provide (1) keynote speakers for the event; (2) promotion, publicity and visibility for the conference on the www.pmforum.org and www.pmworldtoday.net websites; (3) publication of selected papers in the PM World Today eJournal; and (4) project planning and management assistance. As a co-sponsor, PMForum.org will receive recognition in all conference publicity and some profit sharing at the end of the event.

The 1st Annual UTD Project Management Symposium is being sponsored by the Graduate Program in Project Management in the School of Management’s Executive Education Center at UTD. The 2 Day event will be the first major project management conference in the Dallas/Fort Worth metropolitan area since the PMI’91 Seminars/Symposium 16 years ago. The UTD Symposium will focus on topics important to organizations, industries and the economy of North Texas, including project management on advanced semiconductors, healthcare, information technology, nanotechnology and other types of programs and projects. For more information about the conference, see http://www.pmforum.org/blogs/news/2007/01/pmf-to-co-sponsor-1st-annual-utd.html.

“This is an opportunity to take the project management program at UTD to the next level, with a lot more regional visibility,” stated James Joiner, Director of UTD’s graduate program in project management.
“This will be the first project management conference for UTD, so it needs to be successful. PMForum can provide global visibility for the conference, which should increase attendance. They can also publish some of the papers, which is also attractive,” he added.

According to PMForum.org Managing Editor David Pells, “This is an exciting development for PMForum.org. With high level project management experts and leaders among our advisors and correspondents, we can now provide keynote speakers for a wide variety of events. UTD wanted to sponsor a PM conference in the Dallas area and we are happy to help. With the support of the Dallas PMI chapter, we should be able to organize a very professional and successful conference.”
