Program Management Academy will hold two public workshops on
gathering and writing good project and program requirements. These
workshops will be held in Portland, Oregon, USA on May 18 and 19, 2010.
The instructor is
Debra Lavell, a nationally recognized requirements
training expert.
The workshops are highly interactive, with
individual and small-team exercises specifically oriented toward
improvement of the quality of your project or program requirements.
Best practices, tips and techniques are taught which can be used
immediately to increase project effectiveness and improve business
results.
The
Gathering Requirements for Improved Project Success
course on Tuesday, May 18 is a hands-on workshop focusing on improving
your project requirements elicitation process. Best practices and
proven techniques will be presented and discussed that can drive
immediate business and operational results.
On Wednesday, May
19, the workshop entitled
Writing Requirements for Improved Project
Success is kicked off by building a foundation emphasizing the business
case behind requirements engineering, the purpose of requirements, and
an overview of the various, tools, tips, and techniques required to
successfully improve the requirements engineering activities in your
organization. By the end of the workshop, you will have initial high
quality requirements you have developed during the workshop to take
back to your organization as well as a practical process to document
and manage the requirements for your projects.
The instructor
for both workshops is
Debra Lavell, a nationally recognized
requirements training expert who has taught this and related courses to
many thousands of individuals. A very wide variety of organizations and
industries have benefited including high tech, banking, information
technology, insurance, government and the food industry. Debra is Chair
and President of the Pacific Northwest Software Quality Conference and
a frequent presenter at various quality conferences.
Her
approach is ideal for hands-on learning, group discussions and team
activities. She encourages attendees to bring their own projects in for
some "in-class consulting" and her facilitation skills insure workshop
attendees also learn from each other.
The two, 1-day workshops
will be held in Tigard, Oregon at the
Courtyard by Marriott. This
beautiful setting is an easy 40 minutes from the Portland, Oregon
International Airport (PDX) and immediately off the I-5 freeway. Lunch,
snacks, and refreshments are provided during the workshop. Upon
completion, students can receive PDU credits.
