The PMI Healthcare SIG's San Francisco Bay Area Symposium Friday exceeded expectations both by attracting a capacity audience and by drawing rave reviews from the participants. The Symposium, billed as the "first annual" San Francisco Bay Area Symposium, was themed: "Building excellence in healthcare project management".

One hundred healthcare professionals attended the half-day event, which focused on healthcare-specific project management training and included such subjects as Project Management Fundamentals for Healthcare Professionals, Stakeholder Management in a Healthcare Setting, and People Skills.
The participants were very positive, as a sampling of the evaluation forms indicates:
According to Jay Ress, Director of Education for the PMI Healthcare SIG and the Symposium instructor: "We received lots of supportive comments, and we also heard a number of excellent suggestions for how this event can be improved. As we look forward to future events, and as we enlist local leadership to arrange future sessions, we will keep both types of feedback in mind."
The San Francisco Bay Area Symposium was the first of a series
of educational events to be offered by the PMI Healthcare SIG.
The SIG will be offering a two-day education track in healthcare
project management during the PMI Nashville Chapter's annual symposium
in April and a half-day education track in Washington DC
during National Health IT Week in June. Further details on these and
other events are available on the PMI Healthcare SIG web site.
