The Australian Institute of Project Management (AIPM)

The Australian Institute of Project Management (AIPM) is the peak body for project management in Australia. Formed in 1976 as the Project Managers' Forum, AIPM has been instrumental in progressing the profession of project management in Australia over the past 30 years.

AIPM’s role is to improve the knowledge, skills and competence of project team members, project managers and project directors, all of whom play a key role in the achievement of business objectives, not just project objectives. AIPM also aims to ensure that those involved at other levels in an organisation and the community understand the key role of project management in today's society.

Project Management Research Committee, China

The Project Management Research Committee, China (PMRC) was established in June 1991. It is a non-profit trans-industry national academic organization.

PMRC joined International Project Management Association as a representation of P.R.China and became a member of IPMA. The PMRC is committed to promote the development of project management in China, and engages in the communication and exchanges with IPMA to improve project management in China.

The organization of PMRC is Chinese Research Society of Optimization, Overall Planning Method and Economic Mathematics sponsored by famous mathematician Hua Luogeng. Since the establishment of PMRC, it is committed to the basic construction of project management in China. PMRC has established C-PMBOK (Chinese-PMBOK), and engages in the specialization development of project management. It has introduced IPMA competence certification system to China and contributed a lot to the development of project management in China.

Engineering Advancement Association of Japan (ENAA)

ENAA, based in Tokyo, was founded in 1978 as a non-profit organization based on corporate membership and dedicated to the promotion and capability enhancement of the Japanese engineering services industry. ENAA is participated in by 250 Japanese engineering and project industry companies and is supported by the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI).

ENAA's Project Management Committee is a division of its Project Engineering Committee (steering organ) and has existed since ENAAs foundation as the association's strategic arm. The ENAA Project Management Committee objectives are to::

The committee is currently represented by 46 companies (mainly engineering and construction companies, and global manufacturing companies having engineering divisions). PMI New Zealand (PMINZ) was granted its charter to operate in New Zealand in 1994. It has experienced exceptional growth since then; with about 1,200 members, it is currently the one of the largest PMI chapters outside North America.

PMINZ has active branches operating in Christchurch (including Nelson group), Wellington (including Hawke's Bay group) and Auckland (including Hamilton group), and has regularly received international PMI awards in recognition of its success.

PMINZ has run a national conference annually since its formation - international speakers and delegates are most welcome to attend.

Project Management Association of Pakistan

Suhail Iqbal, PE, PMP, MCT reports that ... "The Project Management Association of Pakistan (PMAP) was formed in Jan 2004 with more than 100 professionals from diverse areas. PMAP is also recognised as representative body of project managers from Pakistan in Asia Pacific Federation of Project Managers (APFPM) and Project Management Institute (PMI). Russian Project Management Association (SOVNET)

The Project Management Association "SOVNET" was founded in 1990 as a professional non-profit organization acting under the legislation of the Russian Federation. SOVNET is a union of specialists, companies and businesses dealing with the development, execution and management of projects in various spheres, such as construction, industry, information technologies, telecommunications and consulting.

In 1991 SOVNET became a member of the International Project Management Association as a National Association. The Russian Project Management Association sees its primary goal as developing professional and competent project management in Russia and promoting its wide practical application.The key events in the sphere of professional project management in Russia since 1990 have been the following:
