The Global Project Management Forum was initiated by six PMI members who responded to a proposal by David Pells at PMI 94 in Vancouver, Canada. Under PMI’s positive support and the founders’ elaborate planning, the first Global Project Management Forum was successfully launched during PMI 95 in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA with 300 delegates representing 40 countries. To date, 15 GPMF congresses have been held in North America, Europe and Asia Pacific.
Hiroshi
(Hiro) Tanaka is the founder and the National President of the Japan Project
Management Forum (JPMF), fellow and special project management delegate of
ENAA, Japan and is one of the distinguished leaders of the global PM community.
He was an invited speaker at PM conferences in 15 countries. Hiro is also
a member of PMI, IPMA-PMA (India; fellow), IPMA-SOVNET (Russia), AIPM, PMCC
(Japan) and SPM (Japan).
