In August 2006, PMForum announced the formation of a global network of International Correspondents to provide more timely and varied project management-related news and information from around the world.  International Correspondents are experienced PM professionals and, in some cases, former leaders of recognized PM professional associations. They provide articles, news and reports related to projects and project management in their respective cities and countries for publication on www.pmforum.org and www.pmworldtoday.net.  These correspondents also provide PMForum with local representation.  Experienced PM professionals who may be interested in becoming an international correspondent for PMForum, with the associated increased global visibility, are encouraged to contact editor@pmforum.org.

Mounir A. Getachew Teklemariam Alemu

Mr. Alfonso Bucero, PMP, is an International Correspondent for PMForum in Madrid, Spain. Mr. Bucero is also founder and Managing Partner of BUCERO PM Consulting. He previously managed the office in Spain for the International Institute for Learning (IIL) for two years, and was a Senior Project Manager at Hewlett-Packard Spain (Madrid Office) for thirteen years. Alfonso is an active member of the Project Management Institute (PMI ®), of the ALI (Asociación de Licenciados, Ingenieros y Doctores en Informática), and of the Spanish Project Management Association, AEIPRO (afíliate member asociación of the International Project Management Association, IPMA). Ms. Carol Dekkers, PMP, is an International Correspondent for PMForum in Florida, in the Southeastern USA.  Ms. Dekkers is also President of Quality Plus Technologies, Inc., a progressive management consulting firm specializing in working with companies who want to improve their software and systems success.  Ms. Dekkers is an expert consultant in the areas of software measurement, software quality, project estimating, project management, process improvement, requirements, and software sizing (using function point analysis).  Ms. Dekkers is a former President of the International Function Point Users Group (IFPUG) and has been active in leadership positions with the Project Management Institute (PMI®) (past chair of the PMI Metrics SIG), the American Society for Quality (ASQ software division council), and the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) software engineering standards subcommittee. Irwin José Franco

Irwin José Franco, MS, PMP is an International Correspondent for PMForum in Ecuador.  Mr. Franco is also a Project Manager at Image Tech, a leading web and multimedia solutions company based in Guayaquil, Ecuador. Irwin has a B.A. in Visual Communications from Universidad San Francisco de Quito in Quito, Ecuador, and a Masters degree in Project Management (Specialization in Information Technology) from Universidad La Salle in Madrid, Spain.  Since 2000, Irwin has developed and managed more than 40 IT projects, including E-commerce and E-banking portals, mobile solutions, content management systems, corporate software projects and multimedia products.  He has developed solutions for the telecommunications, mass media, tourism and financial sectors.  Recently he has been responsible for deployment of Microsoft’s Enterprise Project Management (EPM) solution and framework, and for establishing project management best practices with Risk and Earned Value Management. Irwin was previously a producer of multimedia products for Producrear and Moviola, both in Quito, Ecuador.  For these firms, he produced and managed projects and teams related to multimedia products, animations, corporate presentations and other audio/visual productions. Jaycee Krüger

Jaycee Krüger, PMP, PrTechEng, is an International Correspondent for PMForum in South Africa.  He is also the Managing Director of CMSS, trading as Construction Management Support Services. He has spent over 29 years working in project environments with increasing responsibility, from technical design and construction supervision through construction management and project management to executive head of various functional departments and director of a major South African project management and engineering company operating globally. Project experience includes power generation, industrial and mining projects, from shutdowns through brown-fields to green-fields in extremely remote places. He has delivered various voluntary papers and lectures on project management topics. Serving his two professions, civil engineering and project management, Jaycee was founding member of various organisations and branches of organisations, as well as subject matter expert in statutory boards governing project management. Alexander Matthey, PMP, is an International Correspondent for PMForum based in Vaud, Switzerland, near Geneva.  Alexander Matthey is also the Managing Director of 3PM Experts Sàrl. He possesses over 24 years experience and has worked extensively in many cultural environments, from Switzerland to Australia, from Morocco to Singapore, including the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia. He graduated as a Computer Science engineer and worked in the Information services, consulting and training industries. Following a fruitful career in software development and ERP implementation, he has now focused on combining his Services, Project, Process and People skills and expertise to organisational excellence. With over 20 years spent in project management including as a PMO Manager, he has forged a reputation as expert and trouble shooter in Project Management consulting, coaching and training. Alexander is a Project Management Office consultant at Richemont International; was the PMO Manager at SITA in Geneva in 2005, and designed, established and managed the PMO at Orange Communications from 2002 to 2004. He led the world’s first organisational project management maturity assessment based on PMI’s OPM3 model. Romeo Mitchell is an international correspndent for PMForum in Ontario, Canada.  He is also a Senior Program Manager with Hewlett-Packard (Canada) Co., with over 15 years’ experience managing information technology (IT) projects and programs. He has an extensive background in all aspects of IT Project Management. This includes the management of single or multiple projects within a program or portfolio. He has delivered complex leading-edge projects and programs on-time, on-budget, with quality deliverables in complex distributed computing environments involving multiple solution providers. He has successfully led and completed assignments involving complex recovery and turnaround programs. Ed Naughton, BE, C. Eng., F.I.E.I, IPMA-a, PMP, is an International Correspondent for PMForum in Dublin, Ireland.  Mr. Naughton isalso the founder and current Director General of the Institute of Project Management of Ireland, the leading authority on the PM profession in Ireland.  Ed is a former Vice President of the International Project Management Association (IPMA) and is currently the Co-chair of IPMA’s “Nation to Nation” Project Management Forum. Ed has researched, published and presented many articles and papers on project management and is the author of the Irish Project Management Competence Baseline. During his thirty year career, Ed has worked as a project manager and/or project management consultant on a large variety of high profile domestic and international assignments. Bob Owen

Bob Owen is an International Correspondent for PMForum and PM World Today in the United Kingdom (UK).  He is also Senior Research Fellow at the University of Salford.  Mr. Owen has been involved with project management in various guises for more than 30 years.  Most of these projects have been in the defence sector and many have been large or extremely large and international in nature.  Bob qualified in electronics in the Royal Air Force before being commissioned as a Pilot (Fast Jet) and then moving into intelligence.  He has many years of defence experience, including roles in research, business development, project management and consultancy.  Having worked at a high level for many years, Bob decided to formalise his (lack of) education.  He gained an MSc (Distinction) in Information Systems in 2004 and went on to study advanced project management for his PhD before being appointed (January 2008) Senior Research Fellow in the Salford Centre for Research & Innovation, the core of the UK’s most prestigious (6 Star) Research Institute for the Built & Human Environment.  His research concentrates on the implementation of lean and agile project management in non-traditional sectors; he has published and presented widely.  He has organised several conferences and is a popular speaker, having been invited by the Project Management Institute, the Association for Project Management and various commercial and academic organisations, many for repeat visits.  Bob is on the Northwest Committee of the Association for Project Management (APM) as Higher Education Institutes representative, and on the national KD2 – Knowledge, Development and Dissemination working group.  Bob Owen is based near Manchester, and can be reached at r.l.owen@salford.ac.uk

Renate Prantner

Renate Prantner is an International Correspondent for PMForum and PM World Today in Vienna, Austria. She is also a member of the newly founded competence team for project management at the University of Applied Sciences BFI Vienna, there being responsible for further developing competence in project management in education and research. Miles Shepherd is a global advisor and International Correspondent for PMForum in the United Kingdom (UK).  He is also managing director for MS Projects Ltd, a consulting company supporting various UK Government agencies, nuclear industry organisations and other businesses. Ahmet N. Taspinar, MBA, PMP, REP is an International Correspondent for PMForum for Turkey. Alexander Tovb is an International Correspondent for www.pmforum.org based in Moscow, Russia.  Mr. Tovb is also an independent project management advisor and consultant; he was recently Deputy Team Leader and project manager on the European Union funded Projects “Land and Property Policy Reform I and II” of the EU-Russia Cooperation Program (TACIS), Moscow, Russia.  Mr. Tovb is an experienced project manager with over 30 years experience in a variety of organizations and industries, primarily associated with information technology (IT) projects.  He is currently a vice president of the Russian Project Management Association SOVNET.  Alexander Tovb is a Certified Project Manager (IPMA Level B01) and an International Project Management Association (IPMA) assessor for professional PM certifications in Russia.  He is a member of SOVNET, IPMA and the Moscow Chapter of the Project Management Institute (PMI®). He has published numerous articles on project management in the Russian Chief Information Officer (CIO) magazine and presented papers at PM professional conferences, seminars and events in Europe, Asia and Russia. He is the co-author, with G. L. Brenda Treasure, PMP, is an International Correspondent for PMForum in Melbourne, Australia.  She is also a contract project manager for Telstra Corporation in the Service Management Group as Senior Project Manager for the National IT Transformation Project for Customer Care & Billing.  Brendahas been actively practicing Project Management for over 15 years in both a permanent role and consulting through her own company for private organisations, government agencies and in the IT & Telecommunications arena.  She recently completed a contract as Senior Project Management for a key technology program – Jersey for Ericsson Australia, involving the delivery of the 3G Mobile network technology across Australia for Telstra.  Previously, Ms. Treasure was Business Services Manager for Toll, Corporate IT, responsible for delivery of all IT projects and overall governance of the project delivery team incorporating the Project Office. Brenda served as Technology Implementation Manager for the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, Australia, during 2005-2006 where she was responsible for the overall implementation of technology across all venues. From 1994 until 2005, Brenda held IT project management or technical lead roles for such companies as Superpartners, Toll Logistics, Workcover, Accompli Technologies, Ansett Australia, Telstra, Hermes Precisa, Eastern Energy/TXU and Ernst & Young.  Very active within the Project Management Institute (PMI®) for over 8 years, Brenda served as Professional Development Director & President of the PMI Melbourne Chapter during 2001-2003.  In 2003 Brenda received the PMI Australian Chapters’ Distinguished Contribution Award’.  She served as Communications Director for PMI’s Women in Project Management Specific Interest Group (WiPM SIG) during 2004-2006.  She is currently Asia/Pacific Representative for PMI’s Component Services Member Advisory Group and Volunteer Coordinator on the Core Team of PMI’s 2nd Edition of the Program Standard.  Brenda recently graduated as Australia’s first Representative from PMI’s Leadership Institute Masters Class 2007.  She speaks regularly at PMI Component & Leadership Meetings and global Congresses. Brenda has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from the University of Canberra and is certified by PMI as a Project Management Professional (PMP®). Marc A. Zocher, PMP is an International Correspondent for PMForum in Washington State, USA.  Mr. Zocher is also Executive Vice President of TLI Solutions, Inc., a technology and management services firm based in Golden, Colorado.  The company provides management, strategic and technical services for various branches of the US government.  Marc has a Bachelors of Science (B.S.) degree in Geology from New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, New Mexico, USA and has twenty-four (24) years of experience on environmental, industrial, energy, and government related programs and projects.
