PM World Today Seeks Papers

Beginning with the August issue of PM World Today the online monthly publication of PMForum.org, the monthly project management on-line pubication is now published at the beginning of each month. According to managing editor, David Pells, "we want the perspective to be more forward looking. We will focus on publishing timely news, papers and articles that can be useful for future application, and that can contribute to the future projects and careers of our readers."

According to Mr. Pells, "we are especially interested in publishing good student papers. We want to encourage young people who are studying project management at either the graduate or undergraduate level to publish their research papers as a way to jump start their professional careers. Both professors and future employers might like to see such initiative, and it can be good publicity for the students, professors and universities represented."

Note that publication in PM World Today can also provide authors with professional development units (PDUs) for Project Management Professional (PMP) recertification. Project Management World Today, or PM World Today, is the monthly online professional publication of www.pmforum.org. Each issue contains an editorial, case studies, viewpoints by leading professional leaders, featured technical papers, student papers, tips & techniques, event listings, and a summary of recent news related to PM Research, PM Education, the PM Profession, the PM Community, the PM Supplier Marketplace, and Projects and Programs in the real world of government, industry and society. Call for Papers: PMI Global Congress 2007 - North America

The Project Management Institute (PMIŽ) has announced the Call for Papers for its Global Congress 2007 - North America, which will be held in Atlanta, Georgia, USA during 6-9 October 2007. The Call for Papers for PMI's 2007 North American congress will officially open on 30 October and end on 31 December 2006. The announcement was made on Tuesday, 24 October 2006 on site at the Global Congress 2006 - North America in Seattle.

Authors interested in submitting abstracts for paper presentation at the 2007 PMI congress in Atlanta should focus on one or more of the following general topic areas:

Call for Papers - International Student Paper Award'07 for
Project Management Days - PM Days '07 –"Projects & Management From 9 to 5?"
7th - 8th May, 2007, Vienna, Austria


The PM Days'07 "PROJECTS & MANAGEMENT: From 9 to 5?" will be held from the 7th - 8th May 2007 in Vienna, Austria. This major Austrian project management event is co-organised by the PROJEKTMANAGEMENT GROUP (PMG), Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration and the ROLAND GAREIS CONSULTING (RGC). In the last 25 years the pm days have become a meeting point for international and national pm researchers, practitioners and students.

The PMG and RGC have successfully launched an International Student Paper Award for project management students in the last few years.

Master and PhD students worldwide are invited to submit their research papers on the following topics:

The best three papers will be awarded by an international jury of well-recognized pm experts. All participating students, who will present their papers at the pm days'07 will be invited to take part in the pm days´07 free of charge.

The deadline for submitting abstracts is the 10th November 2006.

A brief abstract of no more than 500 words must be submitted on a standard form, with the abstract addressing the major aspects of the paper. After the acceptance of the abstract, the full paper has to be submitted until the 1st February 2007.

Call for Papers - Deadline Approaches for Feb 2007 PM Congress in Russia

The deadline for abstracts for papers to be presented at the February 2007 International Project Management congress to be held in Nizhnyi Novgorod, Russia is 20 October 2006. The Nizhnyi Novgorod conference will be sponsored by the Russian Project Management Association SOVNET and the International Project Management Association (IPMA). The theme of the symposium is "Project Management: State, Society, Business". The subheading of the conference is "Competent Project Management - Key Factor of Efficacy, Development and Prosperity."

Abstracts for paper presentations in the following streams are sought:

Symposium Participants willing to present a paper on one or more of the Symposium topics should submit an abstract of their paper containing 500 words maximum to the Program Committee. Abstracts are due by 20 October 2006. Notification of selection will be provided by 17 November 2006. Final papers are due by 15 December 2006. Participants making presentations will be granted a discount of 20%.

The International Project Management Symposium will be held for the first time in Nizhnyi Novgorod, a historic and important city in Russia. From 1932 to 1990 the city was known as Gorky after the writer Maxim Gorky. Symposium and Exhibition will take place in historical place - Nizhegorodskaya Yarmarka - a trade fair for 400 years (www.yarmarka.ru).
