CALL FOR PAPERS
PM World Today – January 2007
PM World Today is seeking PM articles, case studies, technical papers, and tips & techniques for the January 2007 issue. Papers should not have been previously published and may address any subject of potential interest to project management professionals. Authors retain all copyrights. Information should be factual. While we do not discriminate, PM World Today retains the right to refuse to publish anything considered unprofessional or inappropriate.
For more information, please contact editor@pmforum.org
According to Mr. Pells, "We are also interested in publishing good student papers. We want to encourage young people who are studying project management at either the graduate or undergraduate level to publish their research papers as a way to jump start their professional careers. Both professors and future employers might like to see such initiative, and it can be good publicity for the students, professors and universities."
Publication of professional articles in PM World Today should provide authors with professional development units (PDUs) for Project Management Professional (PMP) recertification. According to PMI’s Continuing Certification Requirements Program (CCR) Handbook (page 6), PDUs are available under Letter Code 2B for an “Author or co-author of an article pertaining to project management published in a non-refereed journal.” An author can receive 15 PDUs for each article; co-authors can receive 10 PDUs for each article. PM World Today is expected to fully qualify as a non-refereed journal in PMI’s program, thus allowing authors to claim PDUs for recertification purposes.

Poland is situated in the heart of Europe, at a crossing of roads and cultures. Its boundaries are formed by the Baltic Sea to the North; Germany to the West, the Czech and Slovak Republics to the South; Ukraine, Belarus, Lithuania and Russia to the East.
Krakow is the capital of Malopolska, the southern region of Poland. The city has over one thousand-years of history. The city was the capital of Poland from 11th to 17th century, a medieval town plan with the largest Main Market in Europe, the oldest Polish university - the Jagiellonian University, churches and cathedrals, magnificent collections and museums, the Salt Mine in Wieliczka. Thanks to the extraordinary accumulation of cultural wealth, Cracow was registered as one of the 12 sites on the UNESCO World Heritage List. It is not only the capital of Polish cultural heritage but also has the ambition of playing such a role in the whole middle-eastern Europe . This previous capital is now the heart of social, scientific and commercial life which makes it one of the fastest developing cities, yearly visited by 4 million tourists from abroad.

Krakow is famous for one of the oldest European universities, which was set up in 14th century, but also for numerous monuments and its great people - it is the city of Copernicus , Karol Wojtyla – Pope John Paul II - and some Nobel Prize winners. There are 19 colleges and universities with more than 150 thousand students. It is impossible to describe or even list all the tourist attractions in Krakow.
Again, according to Mr. Sroka, “We are expecting about 1100 specialists and experts to participate in the Congress, coming from more than 50 countries. We believe that their experience, competence and involvement in the PM movement will make a great impact on the PM field, providing innovative thoughts and interesting solutions.”
