Distinguished Contribution To
Advancing Project Management In The Public Sector
Wayne
Abba was appointed Vice President for Integrated Management Services for Dekker,
Ltd., a leading provider of project management software and decision support
services, in August 1999 following a distinguished career with the United
States government.
His public service spanned 36 years, including four years active duty with the Army and 32 years in the civil service, the last 17 as the senior program analyst for contract performance management in the Office of the Secretary of Defense. He is known internationally as a driving force in earned value management's acceptance as the tool of choice for complex project management.
His accomplishments were recognized through three awards of the Secretary of Defense Medal for Meritorious Civilian Service between 1993 and 1999. In 1999, he received the Project Management Institute's Distinguished Contribution Award for advancing project management in the public and private sectors.
