The Chief Executive Officer of PM Solutions J. Kent Crawford, PMP, was awarded
the Project Management Institute's 2003 PMI Fellow Award.The PMI Fellow award,
which is PMI's highest and most prestigious individual honor, recognizes PMI
members who have made sustained and significant contributions to PMI and the
project management industry for more than a decade. It also distinguishes
the winner for his or her significant contributions to the advances of project
management knowledge, practices, procedures, concepts, and other advanced
techniques throughout his or her career.
Crawford, who accepted the award at the PMI Awards Ceremony, which was held in conjunction with PMI's Global Congress 2003 - North America (Baltimore, MD, September 20-23,) said, "Winning the PMI Fellow award is a wonderful recognition for a lifelong career in project management. Over the years, PMI has enlightened the world to project management as a profession, and has built that profession by providing standards like PMBOK and the PMP Certification Program. The Institute has truly revolutionized the way that project management is viewed, valued, and practiced around the world. I'm honored to accept this award from the most respected leaders in the project management profession."
J. Kent Crawford, PMP, is the founder and CEO of Project Management Solutions, Inc., an organization specializing in project office deployment and a broad array of project management services and solutions. His career has focused on implementing successful project management systems for numerous Fortune 1000 clients. For more than 20 years, Crawford has been responsible for the development and implementation of project initiatives for top companies including AstraZeneca, FedEx, General Motors, Monsanto, NCR, Procter & Camble, and The New York Times Company.
Mr. Crawford is a former President and Chair of PMI and has presented papers on project management at PMI's Annual Seminars & Symposia as well as at ProjectWorld and user conferences. He is the author of two books, The Strategic Project Office - which received the 2002 PMI David I. Cleland Project Management Literature Award - and Project Management Maturity Model. Mr. Crawford holds the Project Management Professional (PMP®) designation from PMI and is an Honorary Fellow of Project Management Associates of India.
