eProject, a provider of Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), on-demand Project and Portfolio Management (PPM) software announced yesterday that Siebel founding executive and former CTO Bill Edwards has joined the eProject board.
Edwards brings to the eProject board more than 25 years of engineering and management experience in high tech, and as a member of the senior executive management team and technical staff, he took four companies public: Siebel Systems, Macromedia, Frame Technologies, and Convergent Technologies.
"Software-as-a-Service is quickly emerging as the next major shift in computing, and this change will be accelerated as technologies like AJAX make it possible to deliver SaaS applications that are highly responsive, configurable, and fully integrated," said Bill Edwards.
eProject is the leading provider of on-demand PPM. According to an October, 2005 IDC (www.idc.com) Insight Report, "A Case for On-Demand Project and Portfolio Management," eProject "offers a full-blown project management capability on a multi-tenant basis" and "is most likely the largest on-demand PPM provider in terms of revenue and customer count."
"Bill Edwards brings a keen insight and vision into how we can best manage and guide our growth and take advantage of the huge market opportunity before us. His track record building hugely successful, mainstream software applications is second to none, and will be invaluable to eProject as we continue to break new ground and drive the market with our on-demand PPM platform," said Steven Anderson, eProject COO.
Siebel Systems was acquired by Oracle Corporation in January 2006.
